I over-exerted myself. I worked so hard to get everything ready,

and I started last min. work on the house which had to be finished by Christamas.

At least now I can sit back and enjoy my beautiful home.

......and now.... the garden......but I won't be doing any gardening.

well not too much anyway..... someone else can take care of that.

My husband says that's fine  as long as it's not him. lol

Yellow pages anyone.

I hate the unsettled cold weather and can't wait for it to end.

The sun peeped through on Friday and Saturday and we dicided to walk

to our local Italian trattoria Fantozzis on Saturday. We met some friends

and had a really pleasant relaxing evening.

All  went well and we started to walk home, all of us about 10,

when the heavens opened,  this was not a shower. There was nothing

we could do except run home, it was only a short way home but none

the less we girlies spent time on our hair and outfits only to be drenched. ho-hum

P.S  The Boy doesn't think much of this weather either - he told me.

I'm so upset. The mother of my closest friend has been given 2-3 weeks to live.

This dear lady (73 yrs old) helped me when my parents died 10 yrs ago, started

to sometimes be confused, lose concenration and balance in July 2009 and has

gradually become worse with fewer lucid moments and no speech or communication

at all.

After tests she has been diagnosed with CJD.

So I'm just there for my friend with any help or support she needs.

I know it's not easy losing a loved one.

I only wish I could take her pain away.

Yes we would all love to simply take the pain away and that is a normal aspiration.
It shows compassion and empathy.  The truth is you cant.  Surffering is part of the human condition and overcoming it  is for all of us is the path we travel alone.

Juts be careful not to take it into yourself as this is not needed or helpful to your friend.  Be present, be a witness to their journey and see the world through their eyes. Look to a time when this will be all over and in the past, a time when they can look back with love, and remember.

My friends mother Rebecca died on Monday.

I spoke to my friend very briefly, she was absolutely distrought

barely able to speak.

The funeral is on Wednesday.

I sent her a text on Saturday telling her that I'm there

for her if she needed a break.

I wish Wednesday would be over.  Sad
